Questions and answers

Plain answers to what pastors, administrators, and business owners ask first.

Getting started

We don’t know where to begin with AI. Is this for us?

Yes. You don’t need to understand the technology first. We start with the busywork your staff repeat every week, such as announcements, routine notes, documents, and follow-ups, and find where AI could carry the first draft.

AI doesn’t replace your people or their contact with the people you serve. Your staff choose the direction, check the facts, and approve everything before it goes anywhere.

What happens in the free introductory consultation?

We talk through your week: what repeats, who does it, and where the time goes. We show a short demonstration using made-up sample information, and we tell you honestly whether a plan would be worth it. The consultation is for deciding fit. It isn’t a free action plan.

Booking saves a request on this site. We reply by email or phone to arrange a time; nothing is scheduled automatically.

Do our staff need to be good with technology?

No. If your staff can use email and a shared document, they can use what we set up. We do the set-up with you, train in plain language, and build around your own tasks.

Which AI tools do you use?

We start with what your office already has, such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or an existing ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or Gemini account. We don’t resell software. Your organization owns its accounts and pays any vendor directly, and any vendor cost is named in writing before you commit.

Pricing and membership

What does it cost?

The introductory consultation is free, with no obligation. To begin, the first year is $3,500: $500 down, which starts your comprehensive, personalized AI plan and the hands-on implementation of the scope you accept, plus the required $3,000 annual fee. After the first year, renewal is $2,500 a year, only if you choose it.

Nothing renews automatically. Bespoke development, travel, and vendor costs are disclosed and agreed in writing before you commit.

What does the $500 down payment start?

A working session with the people who do the work, a written AI action plan for your office, and hands-on implementation of the parts you accept: set-up, instructions, testing with your own approved material, and a handover your staff can run. It’s part of the paid first year: the $500 down payment begins it, and the $3,000 annual fee is also required, $3,500 in all. There’s no plan-only purchase.

Before you commit, the written scope names the outcomes, tools, inputs, testing, and handover. There’s no hidden hour or workflow cap on those accepted deliverables.

What does membership include?

Membership includes the comprehensive AI plan and agreed implementation in the first year, a private member login, training, templates, and a first-week guide, weekly AI updates with a private feed, the member AI answer box, questions answered by a person throughout the year, and consultations by phone or in person as needed. Membership comes with every first year and isn’t sold separately. It opens once both first-year payments are confirmed and your membership dates are recorded; then you sign in and enter your personal member password.

How often can members talk with a person?

As needed. There’s no fixed call schedule: when something comes up, ask through your member area and we arrange a consultation by phone or in person at a time that works for you. Questions can also be answered in writing in your account. If an in-person visit needs travel, the cost is agreed with you first.

Does membership renew automatically?

No. Nothing renews or charges automatically. If you choose to continue after the first year, renewal is $2,500 a year, agreed and invoiced like the first year. Member access runs for the dates on your membership.

What if our plan needs custom software or outside vendors?

Then you’ll know before you commit. Bespoke development, travel, and outside vendor costs are never folded into the first-year price or a renewal. If your plan calls for them, we describe and price them in writing first, and you decide.

How do we pay?

By invoice, after you accept the written scope: the $500 down payment and the $3,000 annual fee for the first year. There is no online checkout on this site. Member benefits open once both are paid and your membership is recorded.

People and information

What stays with people, and out of AI tools?

Pastoral care and counseling, prayer requests with personal details, donor and giving records, personnel matters, payment details, health information, and anything about children stay with people and out of everyday AI tools, including the member AI answer box.

AI works from information that is meant to be shared, such as approved event details, or from routine notes with personal details removed. Your plan includes clear rules your staff can follow.

Who checks what the AI writes?

Your staff do, every time. We set up a named reviewer and a short checklist for each task, such as checking every date, weekday, time, place, link, and cost against the approved details. Nothing is published or sent without a person approving it.

Will AI replace our staff?

No, and that isn’t the goal. AI handles repetitive busywork so your people have more time for what only people can do: judgment, relationships, care, ministry, service, and creative decisions.

Will this save us money?

It saves time first, and it helps you avoid spending on tools you don’t need. Time returned is staff capacity, an estimate. It becomes cash only when an expense actually stops, such as a subscription you cancel or outsourced work you no longer buy, and we count those separately. We don’t promise savings or publish client results without permission and verified numbers.

Does AI write sermons or make pastoral decisions?

No. Doctrinal and pastoral decisions stay with your church leadership. We help with office administration and communications, using material your leaders have approved.

Academy, Briefing, and the member area

What is Learn AI Academy?

The member training library: short lessons, step-by-step playbooks for church and business offices, instruction templates, and a first-week guide. Anyone can see what it covers; the lessons themselves open in the member area.

How do members sign in?

Select “Member area” at the top of any page, then enter the email address you gave us (Gmail, Outlook, or any other) and the personal member password sent to you when your membership was recorded. You don’t need a ChatGPT account or any other outside account.

What is the member password for?

It’s your personal key to the member area: you sign in with it and your email address. Each member gets their own. Each browser stays signed in and unlocked for 30 days, until you sign out or lock it, or until the password is replaced. If you lose it, we issue a new one and the old one stops working everywhere.

What is the AI answer box?

A place in the member area to draft routine text and ask practical questions about using AI, with an answer in seconds. It is powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, so what you type is sent to Anthropic to produce each answer. It can be wrong, it can’t browse the web, and it isn’t a person: every answer comes with a checklist for a person to review before use.

Keep private information out of it. For anything that needs someone who knows your situation, members ask a person.

Do you email the AI Briefing or member updates?

No. The public AI Briefing is published on this site, and weekly member updates appear in the member area. You can follow either with an RSS reader, and members get a private feed link. We don’t send Briefing or update emails.

Websites and Deploy 3:16

How is Learn AI Advisory related to Deploy 3:16?

Both are led by Luke Johnston. Deploy 3:16 builds church websites and connected apps. Learn AI Advisory helps with the work inside your office: AI plans, hands-on set-up, and staff training. Each is priced on its own, and you can use either one without the other.
